Insects We Like
When: Saturdays, May 30th and June 27th
Where: The Farmhouse
Time: Noon-1pm
Fee: $5

Join the fun exploring some of our favorite insects this summer with a Master of Entomology! Explore the diversity of insects in our neighborhoods. In each class we will learn about a different family of aquatic insects and some neat facts about pollinators. Many insects can use our help – so Jessica will give out milkweed plants at the end of each class! All ages are welcome.

Instructor: Jessica gained lots of her enthusiasm for insects from the U of MN St Paul Campus. She is also a certified Master Water Steward, a gardener, weaver and a nature enthusiast.

Stormwater 101: For Renters!
When: Tuesday, June 9th
Where: Tiny Diner Restaurant
Time: 7pm-8pm
Fee: Free

We are all intimately connected to the Mississippi River! Why? It is the source of our drinking water and the eventual recipient of the rain that falls on our streets and homes. As a person who doesn’t own a house or land, what can you do to keep that water clean? Come celebrate clean water and learn about how you can make a difference.

Instructor: Jessica and Mary are both Master Water Stewards who live in Minneapolis. They completed a capstone project designing and installing a rain garden in Jessica’s front yard last summer. Jessica is an entomologist and avid gardener. Mary works for the Pollution Control Agency in the storm water program. Both Mary and Jessica are excited to share knowledge gleaned from their own experiences.
