Greenhouse space can be difficult to come by, especially for the customized flats of veggies that we need for our chefs who love diversity. Lucky for us, Wozupi Tribal Gardens has personable farming staff and a new greenhouse that will accommodate our transplant order. This week, I brought a box of seeds to be planted in the greenhouse so that we can have sizable seedlings this spring – and get a jumpstart on the season!
For those of you who may be unfamiliar with Wozupi, it is a farm in Shakopee that is, “committed to providing locally grown whole foods to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Dakota community, produced using fair labor practices and environmentally sustainable methods and educational opportunities for both children and adults.” Check out their classes as well as their beautiful farm one day – they have goats, honeybees, an orchard, and a huge maple sugar operation!
Thank you Wozupi!
